Claudie Beaulieu, Principal Investigator

I am an associate professor in the Ocean Sciences Department at UC Santa Cruz. I am interested in quantifying ocean & climate variability and change through advanced statistical and machine learning tools. Before moving to Santa Cruz, I spent five years in the School of Ocean and Earth Sciences at the University of Southampton in the UK. Before that, I did a postdoc with Jorge Sarmiento at Princeton University and worked with Taha Ouarda at INRS-ETE and Ousmane Seidou at University of Ottawa during my PhD. Link to my CV here. Dongran Zhai

Dongran is a PhD student in Ocean Sciences at UCSC. She   joined the group after receiving a MS in Ocean Sciences at UCSC. She is working on trends in satellite ocean color. She was awarded a scholarship from the China Scholarship Council to conduct her research.

 

 

 

 

Adelicia Johnson

Adelicia is a PhD student in Ocean Sciences at UCSC. She joined the group after receiving a Bachelor’s in Geology from UC Davis and working as an analytical chemist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Adelicia is working on detection and attribution of regional changes in the pace of surface temperature.

 

 

Nicolas Chavez

Nico is an undergraduate student in Environmental Sciences at UCSC. He was awarded an Undergraduate Research in Science and Technology Award to monitor changes in the rate of surface warming.
